About this work
It is one of a series of 4 works titled 'The Fluidity of Public Space I-IV' (from the body of work ‘Recording Movement and Spatial Disruption – 5 Walks in Millennium Square, 2018’).
This body of work is based on five walks in Leeds Millennium Square during various public events (festivals, concerts) in 2018. Each walk followed a similar route around and across the Square. However, each event creates different areas where the space is no longer accessible to the public, a disruption to public space. Each walk was tracked using GPS data, and the resulting patterns created by the walks were used to create two series of screenprints and some 3D work.
The series of large screenprints as shown here was produced to show the changing routes of the walks. They are map-like and present a visual representation of how access to the space is changing.
Limited Edition Prints
Limited Edition print means that there will only ever be a certain number of handmade prints produced (the edition size) and once these are sold there will be no more available. The prints are signed and numbered in pencil by the artist. The artist reserves the right to also use the images in digital reproductions, e.g. on posters, greetings cards and other products.
