'4,000 Miles' - Mixed Media

Title - “4,000 Miles”

Description – Mixed media collage comprising 18 collagraph prints, acrylic, pumice gel on a plywood box frame. 

Dimensions – 75cm x 75cm x 5cm.

This work responds to the proposed investment in roadbuilding announced in the UK Government's March 2020 budget. This included new investment of £27bn in road building, including work on 4,000 miles of roads. This has been criticised for the potential to increase emissions and make achieving net-zero targets by 2050 more difficult. 

The work comprises a collage of 18 collagraph prints on an 'asphalt-like' surface.  

I created the work for the 2020/21 Scott Creative Arts Foundation Emerging Artist Award (for which I was finalist).
