A2 Digital Poster (Unframed).

This series of work is inspired by the history, architecture and visual language of York Museum Gardens.

The series comprised nine original works, each of which combined a printmaking technique with additional drawing and painting. Each work shows an aspect of Museum Gardens.

These digital reproductions of the original works have been printed on 250gsm silk paper and are A2 size (59.4 x 42.0cm).

Print VII (Mediaeval wall) is inspired by the mediaeval stone work in the Multangular Tower in York Museum Gardens.

I have used several different printmaking techniques in the series and then added elements by drawing and painting to emphasise specific shapes, lines, patterns and colours.

The colour palette is inspired by various aspects of the Gardens - the terracotta colours in the Roman brickwork, the greens and golds in the Tansy beetles, and the greys of the stonework.

The images show the poster individually and in combination with other works in the series.

Some of the original works are still available – please message me for details if you are interested in purchasing one of these.
